Although the holidays are over, winter is still in full swing. With this in mind, I want to share a winter experience that I had been excitedly looking forward to; the Immersive Nutcracker: A Winter Miracle Experience in Chicago, IL at the Lighthouse ArtSpace Chicago - only we never made it due to cold and flu season.
What to Expect
I was looking forward to my family and I attending because it was a unique spin on the traditional Nutcracker ballet experience. Instead of simply sitting and watching the performance, customers are able to engage in the experience which included immersive projections, a life-size nutcracker waltzing through, as well as enchanting photo ops. All of these were reasons why I wanted us to have this experience.
Additionally, wonderful iconic musical selections like “The March of The Toys” and “The Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy” were to be playing.
I appreciated that time slots were 30 minutes at a time because the time allotted gave you enough time to enjoy the performance that played and begin moving towards photo ops, etc.
Lastly, each person that attend with the basic ticket received a sheet of stickers as a souvenir.
Background Information
According to the website, this immersive experience was founded in 2019 by Toronto-based producers, Corey Ross and Svetlana Dvoretsky and Toronto-based developer – Slava Zheleznyakov.
Lighthouse Immersive is the first experiential entertainment multi-plex, aiming to cultivate community and creativity through large-scale events and exhibitions of all art forms.
The production company Storywall Entertainment which is headquartered in Canada has brought together the best creative professionals from around the world.
The immersive projection show “The Nutcracker” will be the first project of the company, premiering in Canada, Russia, and the United States.
Final Thoughts
With this being a traveling exhibit, it may not come back around, which is another reason why I was looking forward to it. With this in mind, if you ever come across traveling exhibits that you are highly interested in attending - please go because you never know if you’ll get that opportunity again, or not.
This opportunity was in collaboration with US Family Guide.
